
PA6A/AW Pesticide Training – Hand Held Applicator Safe Use (Near Water)
The PA6A unit covers the use of hand held applicators, including knapsack sprayers. PA6AW covers everything in the PA6A plus the ability and qualification to spray pesticides in/ near watercourses; streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, etc
Please note: Please note, date selections are for training only. An assessment must be purchased alongside training (please see dropdown) This face to face' individual assessment is carried out on a separate day. Where possible we aim to complete assessments within the same week but this must be arranged and confirmed beforehand. You are able to book assessments independently if you wish.
Objectives of this training for candidates to:-
- Prepare a hand held pesticide applicator for work, calibrate it and operate it to ensure correct application rate without risk to themselves, other people and the environment.
- Use the information detailed on product labels to determine the approved uses for the product and its potential hazards to human safety, non-target areas and the environment in general.
- Carry out daily and routine maintenance on a hand held pesticide applicator.
- Carry out the correct procedure for cleaning personal protective equipment and application equipment which may have been contaminated with pesticide.
There are a number of methods of calibration which the candidates may use provided that it produces the correct end result.
PA6AW covers:
- Demonstrate knowledge of preparing to apply a pesticide in or near water.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of application in or near water.
- Calibrate applicator.
